UrBan Philosophy is designed to enhance and refine the thought process of African people; to add a new dynamic to human thought and reasoning. It is a liberatory philosophy that seeks to foster liberation thinking, amongst African people, to facilitate liberation African sovereignty. Many Africans are bound by what Dr. Asa Hilliard labeled “conceptual incarceration.” They are locked and confined within Euro-Asian concepts, ideas, ideologies, systems, philosophies and institutions. None of which are truly suited for the African mind. This is not to imply African people cannot benefit from Euro-Asian concepts, ideologies, philosophies, systems and institutions because African people can. However, none of these were designed and developed for the benefit of African people, meaning, none were created to advance the interest of African people. Therefore, African people must break free of the mental chains, intellectual shackles and psychological straightjackets of foreigners; thereby, escaping from the system of “conceptual incarceration”. This is a must have for the African centered. Definitely one of the warriors handbooks. This brilliant Scientific Pan Afrikanist is clear in his words and practice. Great read from cover to cover!
A phenomenal and very through provoking book. I purchased it from and met the author at a book fair and couldn't put it down. I can definitely see a lot of thought was placed into the book and those who enjoy books that cause them to think critically, and radically alter their thoughts, will want to buy!

This book provides the blueprint to reconnecting with and aligning oneself with authentic African culture. It provides the steps to take to reform one's thinking towards a holistic system that is necessary for growth and development. This book is a must-have to add to your library.
This book got me too the point where I think black people should start a group and follow these tenants. This book in my opinion is better then the "art of war." It holds rank as high as "message to the black man", this is a book too influence and teach the black man, woman and child the art of the African diaspora and spiritual concessness.
This was a very thought provoking book. It delves deep into the psyche of HOW to overcome obstacles that effect Black people around the globe in a simplistic way.
